The Signage |
The Brew Houze is the upcoming coffee place in the neighbourhood of The Strand, Kota Damansara. It opened its door to the public in April 2014. The cafe is situated behind the row of CIMB, OCBC and Alliance Bank. To be more precisely, it is just opposite of Club 7.
I was looking for a new coffee place to hangout around my working area and decided to drop by here on a normal Friday evening. With more than an hour to spare from the horrific traffic jam (those who work here will understand the traffic condition along Persiaran Surian). Not many people at that time. Maybe the place is still new. Let us explore the cafe slowly.
Front view (Night) |
The signage is quite visible to the crowd especially in the dark. They always adhere with the principle of making fantastic Coffee and great Food for People. (Coffee ~Food~People). Simple yellow lighting to brighten the surrounding. As I was aware, it is probably the only coffee cafe on this row. However, a few pubs and bars are just distance away.
HouZe Set Lunch Menu |
The Brew HouZe has set lunch menu from RM13 nett from 12-2pm. Most likely to cater for working class people around the neighbourhood. Did not manage to order it since I was here at 6pm.
Main entrance |
Simple transparent glass door to welcome you to the premise. You can have the full indoor view by just standing outside of the main entrance.
Spotted a signage from outside to ask me to Keep Calm and Order Inside. Yes, you are right. You need to place order inside if you decided to dine in. They have a special counter for you if you plan to takeaway.
Takeaway counter |
Pretty awesome to come out with the idea to have a takeaway counter for people who wanna enjoy coffee on the go. Do not forget that getting a car park on this road during working hours is very difficult. Most of the parking is occupied by the office personnel. Why not considering to stop awhile and grab a fast takeaway for coffee addict.
The quote is so true. It is never too late for a good cup of coffee. Some of my friends prefer late night coffee. Some prefer coffee before 5 because they cannot sleep if they have coffee after 5pm. I can have coffee anytime; the later the better.
Outside view |
Even if you decided to sit outside at the smoking area, you still can catch the glimpse of action of the barista preparing your cup of coffee.
When you enter the premise, the bar counter is situated on the right of the entrance. A red olden bicycle is placed in front of the counter for decoration. The wording TBH stands for The Brew Houze. Naked red bricks to form the partition of the counter. Menu is written on the wall behind.
For a closer look, the menu on the wall display the beverages of coffee and non coffee. The food is hot from kitchen and is available for all day long. If you really have problem choosing, just ask for some recommendation from the counter.
Plenty seats and wooden tables available in the premise to cater individual or group visitors. It is very cozy and chilling inside. Not much decoration on the walls.
Bar counter |
Inside view of the bar counter |
Sitting on the bar counter is another option for you. A clearer sight to learn the coffee making skill from the barista, perhaps?
Hot Mocha (RM12) |
Hot Cappuccino (RM10)
Ordered a Hot Cappuccino and Hot Mocha. If you can stand for slightly strong taste of coffee, go for the Cappuccino. The coffee is slightly bitter compared to others. Recommend to consume in the morning for coffee fix.
Apple Crumble (RM12) |
The Apple Crumble comes with a scoop of ice-cream. Recommended by the barista and is homemade. The portion is slightly small for sharing. It is crunchy and blend well with the ice-cream. Remember to finish it before you start drinking your coffee. If not, the dessert become tasteless after you consume the coffee.
